WA: Man dies after police stand off

A 36-year-old man involved in a stand-off with police in the West Australian town of
Geraldton has died in hospital.

Police were called to a house in the Geraldton suburb of Waggrakine at 7.30am (WST),
where a man was threatening to harm himself.

A police spokeswoman says the man, who was believed to have been brandishing a weapon,
was taken into custody after a short stand-off and rushed to Geraldton Hospital with breathing
difficulties.

He died a short time later.

The spokeswoman says no shots were fired and police are investigating.
