Qld: Race industry should put TAB proposal to govt: Beattie

BRISBANE, Feb 22 AAP - Queensland's racing industry should put to the state government any
proposal it had to buy the TAB, Premier Peter Beattie said today.

Racing industry administrators reportedly met here yesterday to discuss a proposal to buy
the betting agency from the government to keep the TAB within the industry.

After the ALP state conference rejected privatisation, Queensland cabinet instead decided
to back corporatising the TAB.
